Review: Happy to You by Miike Snow

I didn’t expect this leap from Miike Snow’s second outing. Their first album was this slightly predictable (but still good) electronic-y rock that gets you tapping; their second reminds me a bit more of Yeasayer in depth. Sure, in ways it’s still a bit like their earlier work, but you know they’ve been busy taking new influences in. “Bavarian #1 (Say You Will)” has a lovely march beat; “Black Tin Box” is a sprawling five-minute stretch of crazy, and “The Wave” is, well, it’s there to appease the scared ones. Miike Snow have gone past the dance floor, and I like it. | 4/5
