“I’m wearing my heart on a noose.”

“Oh Love” by Green Day | Final new release today, I hope. I’m also noticing a bit of a trend with this, Green Day’s newest single, and the No Doubt song I posted earlier. What’s with the throwback? Nothing wrong with it, of course – I take it as a good thing. “Oh Love” harks a bit to the old days, when Green Day just did pop-punk songs rather than sweeping statements on the state of America (not that I didn’t like it). Yeah, the love thing may sound a little floozy if you look at it, but it’s not like they haven’t done it before. And I’m sure there’s a twist: the band’s releasing three albums in one year – a trilogy of concept albums, perhaps? – so in the bigger scheme of things, this is barely scratching the surface. Barely.
