“There’s gasoline in your heart. There’s fire in mine.”

“Gasoline” by Alpine | Another Aussie act that I discovered from those Triple J recordings – and this time, it’s Melbourne-based band Alpine. Melbourne? They sound more like they come from, well, the Alpine region. And yet, despite the chilly connotations of their name, this song sounds quite summery. (But not as hot as, well, gasoline. Just sufficiently summery.) They’re pretty quirky but quite accessible. I love the main riff off this one. I’d swear it’s the keyboard, but maybe it’s not just it. But I’m pretty certain they remind me of Chairlift in their Does You Inspire You era, only with less grunge and more pip-pop.

Got something?
