“Don’t you think I don’t already know?”

“Where Can I Go?” by Laura Marling | This girl is just 23 and she’s already releasing her fourth album. Once I Was An Eagle hits stores on 27 May and, judging from her first single “Where Can I Go?”, it will have the same brand of gritty folky goodness Laura’s always done… only this one sounds a bit more polished. Not in a bad way. If past albums reminded you a bit of Joni Mitchell (and after going on a Marling binge a few weeks back – yes, I have all three of her CDs – you will) then this song will really remind you of her. There’s an odd sense of contentment in the sound (although the lyrics aren’t quite there yet). I’m excited where this leads. Also, I have to buy another CD. Will anyone bring me to Singapore again?
