Instrumentals we love, part ten: Mellowing out Queen

“Bohemian Rhapsody” by Triple Fret | Now, a recommendation from Allene, something that’s pretty much up her sleeve, what with her being a trained musician and all. You might have heard Triple Fret, although you probably don’t know them. Maybe you were out in a mall and they were performing and you just passed by. These three girls – Marga Abejo, Jenny de Vera and Iqui Vinculado – came together two years ago and has since forged a reputation for their take on, well, everything – jazz standards, Spanish guitar pieces, stuff like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, where they strip everything back to its bare essentials, and you hear how pure it all is, to the point that you cannot sing along like the idiots on the embedded video do. Well, okay, they’re perhaps the only all-girl classical guitar trio you’ll encounter in this neck of the woods. I am wrong, but then again, artists of this sort don’t really go past their circles that much, admit it. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
