“This is our rom-com, and it ends like this.”

“Meteorites” by Yann Tiersen | You might know Yann Tiersen as the guy behind the soundtrack for Amélie (I mean, you’ve likely seen that film.) But he doesn’t like to be called a guy who composes movie soundtracks – he’s only done three, actually; on the contrary, he has eight studio albums, the latest of which, , was released a few months back. Heard this last weekend while lounging somewhere in Batangas (and prepping some blog entries too). Aidan Moffat from Arab Strap speaks on this record; the music video has Clémence Poésy – that Fleur Delacour girl from the Harry Potter films – doing the miming. Makes for a creepy, slightly unsettling, but ultimately thought-evoking combination. No complaints on that one. [NB]
