「そこまで見えた者を 飽き出す。」

“Katachi” by Shugo Tokumaru | Yesterday’s Doraemon post segues nicely to this recommend from Edsel – we haven’t heard from him in a while! – of a Japanese song he stumbled upon a few weeks back. It’s old-ish – the album this song is from was released in late 2012 – but chances are, if you grab inspiration from more traditional pop styles, your song will start off quirky, and then timeless. Shugo Tokumaru had quite a good run in Japan, having released six albums by himself, apart from working with the Japanese rock band Gellers, but he’s also gained some attention in the West, thanks to some television ads. As for this song, it’s sufficiently catchy, and the music video is… well… I’d probably be frustrated if I attempted that. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
