“In a way, she was…”

“Heaven” by No Rome | Turns out I would do a fair bit to get some sort of celebrity recommendation here. I spotted No Rome from a tweet from B.P. Valenzuela, and when I asked her, she pointed me to this track. So. Yes. Another local artist who’s so hidden in the depths of the casual listener, yet is actually making the rounds of the very music blogs that I follow. (Come on, he was on The Line of Best Fit. My friend Zet, who runs Restless Cities, has liked his Facebook page.) (Also worth noting: similar-ish trajectory to Eyedress.) Rome Gomez’s been doing this for a while, and it’s some lovely chillwave that’s dense and loopy and beautiful in its impenetrability. Well, I say that because I’ve been listening to this song on repeat for the past fifteen minutes trying to decipher a lyric, any lyric, to name this entry. Now that I’ve gotten something (and that is overstating it) I should go peruse the rest of the songs on his Soundcloud page. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
