“It’s gonna take more to satisfy me.”

“Satisfy Me” by Anderson East | “I sipped the finest brandy” is how this song from Alabama-bred Anderson East starts, and it’s so appropriate. This guy’s voice is soaked. Rusty, husky, and all sorts of lovely, like James Morrison pushed to the next level, both in the growl and the expressiveness. It also helps that “Satisfy Me” is a good soul swinger, a nice rumble building up, sweeping you away by the end of the two-and-a-half minutes. That’s the other thing. This is a short song. Too short, I say. Anderson’s debut album, Delilah, is coming out in July. [NB]
