“How can I be sure when all you do is see me through?”

“Pale Shelter” by Secret Admirer | “We’re calling it black metal for supermodels because of the concept the album is written around,” says Matt Finney, one-third of the Montgomery, Alabama-based Secret Admirer. That album isn’t out yet, but they’re teasing a couple of tracks on their Bandcamp page, and it’s interesting. Something definitely from the Deftones book: a surprisingly appealing mix of shoegazer and ambient. I’m posting, of course, their cover of Tears for Fears’ “Pale Shelter”, because I’m a fan of the group, and they did a pretty good job with this cover, even if you’re waiting for the song to kick in (and, yes, it already has). [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.
