“Superworldunknown” by Karin Park | The fun thing with radio hopping is hearing songs that are important to a particular country’s pop history, but you’ve never heard of before. Or, perhaps, sounds vaguely familiar. Karin Park falls in both categories. One of Norway’s bigger pop stars, her 2003 debut “Superworldunknown” introduced the world to her anthemic pop. She’s gone on to release a bunch more albums and even co-wrote one of Norway’s entries to Eurovision. Or maybe I am overstating her importance. But I heard this song on NRK P13 one time, and struggled to identify the song because of a website glitch. I just had to. It sounded vaguely familiar. [NB]
