“Will someone hold me?”

“Lonely” by Maylee Todd | Well, this almost passed us by. A week ago Maylee Todd released a new song in stores: it’s this toe-tapping single called “Lonely” and it’s a surprisingly metaphor-free song about being alone. And, I guess, considering, again, the past few weeks, this hit me. Or maybe the past few months? Years? A lifelong struggle to make lasting friends, instead of those that don’t just last three years? Pft, millennial problems, am I right? No, I actually thought it was something far more universal, only underlined by this generation’s tendency to make it all about themselves… but anyway, this song. The quiet coo, the toe-tapping, it all comes together; a juxtaposition worth having a panic attack for. [NB]
