“You’re the best I ever had.”

“Magnolia” by J.J. Cale | Now, for our random old track, from blues legend J.J. Cale. I haven’t really explored his stuff (again, inevitably – you should know this by now) but heard it on the commute to work (again, on one of those radio recordings – you should know this by now) early this week. It’s, well, a song about longing – originally released on his debut album, 1972’s Naturally – and it seems to fit on these days when the weather bureau says the rainy season has officially started, only for you to walk through the very hot sun yet again. Perfect with some Korean cider. [NB]
