“I’m trying to reach you, but I’m so far from reaching your heart.”

“Making A Fool” by Shy Shy Shy | We go on phases on this blog. Right now, as you may already know, we’re on a K-pop phase that likely will run until this blog meets its inevitable end at the hands of the cool police. Today, though, we return to the Scandinavians – specifically, we return to a band we’ve written about before. We first mentioned Shy Shy Shy last year, in the middle of a Danish radio phase. Now one half of the group, Simon Kjeldgaard, has actually dropped us a line (hi, Simon) to talk about “Making A Fool”, the live video of which they’ve released to tie in with a bunch of dates across Europe (including the Roskilde Festival in Denmark) this summer. Their summer. It’s a nice, bouncy thing, this, with a touch of tropicalia to boot. But, like “Do Not Ask”, which we wrote about before, there’s tension, there’s melancholy, and there’s an irresistible urge to dance. Tour dates are on their website; I suggest we all continue keeping an eye on these two. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
