“절대 내 손을 놓지 마.”

“You=Heaven” by Snuper | We’re back from a break, and to wreck all of the goodwill we may have accumulated, let’s talk about K-pop again. Specifically, a Korean boy band. Yes, I know, despite our recent foray into Korean music we have not really gone deep with male idols, for reasons too long to outline again, but I find myself liking Snuper – particularly their unabashedly retro sound. While their debut “Shall We Dance” is relatively straightforward, “Platonic Love” swerved towards that cheesy, synth-y, very 80s sound. Close enough, but needs a bit more tweaking. “You=Heaven” is that sound refined, with a piano thrown in for good measure. That, I think, kicked the song up from “something Wheein would dance to in an episode of Mamamoo TV” to “something I’d actually play on high rotation”. You know, that piano flourish at the end? So cheesy. So spot on. [NB]
