“We’re gonna feel like we never felt before.”

“Rise Up” by Liz Loughrey | Back to the (still full) inbox, and a song that otherwise wouldn’t really hit me because of the whole “let this be inspirational” message that doesn’t always go well with this cynic. But this song is pretty good on its own: not heavy, not overbearing, and pretty chill, too. Liz Loughrey is another Canadian we’re writing about in recent weeks – she’s from Toronto – but this song was written and produced in Miami, which explains the vibe. And it’s a nice way to be all positive without needing the choir to drill down the point. This comes off her upcoming EP, which should be out within the year, but the song’s now available for download in the usual places. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
