“I’ve had enough of the ever after.”

“Valley of Vision” by Weirds | Let’s change gears a bit. Besides, new month (almost) and all. Say hello to Weirds, a band from Leeds that’s got this good little feel. “Psych-grunge” is how the press release calls them: I can hear the fuzz and I can hear the crunch. I’ll even dare say they remind me a bit of late-era Foals. The band’s preparing for the release of their debut album – no name, but should be out on May through the folks at Alcopop! – with a series of dates across the UK, a bunch of them solo, others as support for the Wytches, before an appearance at Camden Rocks in June. But, again, I’m in the wrong time zone for this. Maybe Jeany would be into them. In fact, I think she would. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
