“Ang mundo ay binabalot ng iyong pagbangon muli.”

“Marilag” by Munimuni | Disclaimer: this thing begins with a gig listing on the inbox, so I’ll begin with that. On 7 June, at Pablo’s Pub at the Bonifacio Global City, you can catch Munimuni, Yan Abelardo, Ian Penn, Eloisa, Haru, Yuri Sta. Maria and E.R.A. in the aptly named Sweater Weather gig from the folks at World Extravaganza. It’s at 20.00 and entry is at PHP 200 with one free cocktail. Now, to the music. I chose to focus on Munimuni as I have been meaning to write about them for the Local Outsider this month – that, and their EP Simula, which they launched last March, is a nice little thing. The UP band is a warm embrace, and “Marilag”, the closing track to the record, is a rousing end, a call to arms. And it fits extremely sunny days like yesterday, when I wrote this. Go give them a watch. Wednesday. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
