“They were trying to keep me back, but I was moving way too fast.”

“Running Man” by Ollie Gabriel | I knew it. I knew that if I give the weekend to myself I end up with a backlog of music recommendations. So let me work through all that, all right? Ollie Gabriel. Born in Louisiana, based in Los Angeles, he grew up with classic soul, aspired to be Michael Jackson and found himself with a liking for Metallica and its ilk. That’s arguably a good mix. It makes sense that “Running Man”, his single, became a relative hit in Europe – it was released in a few countries there early this year; this month he’ll release this in the United States. It makes sense. I might (might) have heard this song on the German stations. Such is its drive – it just pushes forward, and it does not feel stuck in the past considering the influences. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
