“Do you think it’s coming soon?”

“You and Me” by the Moody Blues | I’m not suddenly writing about the Moody Blues because I have discovered them and suddenly like them. I’ll be honest: I’ve only heard of the name, but never the songs, until I listened to the latest episode of Alec Baldwin’s Here’s the Thing podcast, with the band’s Justin Hayward on the other end. I like it when Alec gets really enthusiastic about his guests, and this happens either with Hollywood types he’s long known, or musicians he looks up to. It was a fascinating conversation, although the fact that we had to bring a pet dog to the vet certainly helped – I had to cut the podcast halfway through and listen to it the following day. So, why this song? They mentioned this in particular because of a lyric referencing the Vietnam War then – this was written in 1972, after all. So, am I going to dig through their archive? I wish, but today and tomorrow, despite being holidays (and let’s face it, who’s marking today and tomorrow religiously?) are days of work for me. Welcome to the after effects of the gig economy. I’m fucking tired. [NB]
