“You know nothing!”

“Infected Nightmares (Frankenstein)” by Heavy Rapids | Okay, let’s get loud now. A nice change of pace, if anything. Glasgow punk band Heavy Rapids have been getting a fair bit of attention lately, off the back of their first single “Going Down”. Now there’s a new one out, and it follows the same format somewhat – under three minutes, and, well, straightforward punk. But “Infected Nightmares (Frankenstein)” somehow feels just a little more exciting, because despite the expectations you aren’t quite sure where it will go. And it does go somewhere else at some point. Also, I think I ought to mention the band’s unlikely origins from vocalist Dillon Squire assuming Primal Scream’s Screamadelica was a metal record. That story I found a bit amusing. But, hey, the explorations in that album, I see it here. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
