“He leaves my soul on the floor like a doll.”

“The Sun Ain’t Shining No More” by Asteroids Galaxy Tour | It’s a slow week. I haven’t got an idea of what to write about (although I do have a bit of a backlog to work with – okay, there’s that). And now I’m reading that NME Radio, which I used to listen to in my first days as an employee – back when it was really awesome, back when 6 Music was blighted by George Lamb – has closed down without notice, already a shadow of its former self. So why not post a song that I first heard on that station? The Asteroids Galaxy Tour are based from Copenhagen and is best recognized by Mette Lindberg’s distinctive yelp. Only two albums out – Out of Frequency was released early last year – and I don’t really hear these guys much on any other radio station, local or foreign, except perhaps if you’re in Denmark. (I did hear them once on 99.5 RT and going, “I know these guys!” I think they’re played on Jam now.) So, here’s their first single, a bit of a hesitant groove that eventually goes boom by the final chorus. Enjoy. Also, that was a longer blog entry than I intended…
