“There is nothing to say. Just escape.”

“Escape” by Cielo Pordomingo | Okay, blog break’s over. Let’s get on with the backlog. First on the inbox today is Cielo Pordomingo, an electronica artist based in Argentina. Her new album, Fugaline, went out a couple of months back and she’s now touring across Latin America. I’m posting the opening track, “Escape”, partly because it has English lyrics – the album is a mix of English- and Spanish-language tracks, inevitably – but mostly because it sets the stage for what I think is a pretty interesting album. Intense bursts of sound on one end, some surprisingly gentle stretches on another – and it all comes together to make a record that’s both claustrophobic and majestic at the same time. Especially when she sings in her native tongue. Or maybe that’s just me. [NB] (Have things I should hear? Drop me a line here.)
